Johanna G. Finkle, M.D., FACOG

Clinical Assistant Professor, Obstetrics and Gynecology
Professional Background
Dr. Johanna Finkle is interested in providing compassionate, evidence-based care in obstetrics and gynecology. She manages all areas of gynecologic care, including routine annual visits and contraception. She enjoys caring for high- and low-risk obstetrical patients and performs minimally invasive surgeries such as vaginal, hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgeries. She is fluent in Spanish.
In addition, she is interested in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), fibroids, adenomyosis, perimenopause and menopause, vulvar disorders, abnormal pap smears and colposcopy. She’s passionate about the overlap between these areas and weight management. She envisions helping patients with their weight and wellness goals, from preconception through pregnancy, postpartum, menopause and beyond.
Prior to joining The University of Kansas Health System, Dr. Finkle worked for 11 years in private practice, delivering babies and performing gynecological surgeries in the Kansas City area. There, she became interested in a wholistic approach to patient care. She’s an active listener who believes in an individualized plan of care, and she focuses on the health of her patients before, during and after pregnancy, as well as perimenopause and menopause.
Dr. Finkle is board-certified in obesity medicine. She graduated from Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine and completed her obstetrics/gynecology residency at Medical College of Wisconsin.
