Professional Background

Jennifer (Comeau) Chow, DNAP, BSN, CRNA, RN, joined the faculty of the School of Health Professions in spring 2025. She currently serves as clinical assistant professor in the Department of Nurse Anesthesia Education at KU Medical Center. Her extensive experience as a registered nurse and certified registered nurse anesthetist includes holding recent positions at The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, Kansas, and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Her surgical specialties include endoscopy, ear-nose-throat, gynecology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, plastics, radiology, transplant, trauma and urology.

A KU alum, Chow returned to the university after earning her doctorate in nurse anesthesia practice from KU in 2023. She previously completed a bachelor's degree in nursing from Columbia University in New York City in 2016 and a bachelor's degree in nutrition science from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York, in 2014.

Chow possesses current professional affiliations from the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
