Professional Background

Jennifer Cheng, M.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in engineering and biomedical engineering at Vanderbilt University, Dr. Cheng completed a master’s degree in bioengineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology before earning her doctor of medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she also finished her residency in the Department of Neurosurgery. She completed a fellowship in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery at the Emory University School of Medicine.

Dr. Cheng’s clinical interests include epilepsy surgery; deep brain stimulation; movement disorders; and general, functional and pain neurosurgery. She is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
