Professional Background
Dr. Jocelyn Hunter, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Trauma, Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery Division at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Hunter completed her undergraduate degrees at the University of Oklahoma and attended medical school at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. She completed her General Surgery Residency at Orlando Health in Orlando, Florida. She finished her formal surgical training by completing a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Hunter joined our faculty in 2021 and she currently works in the Division of Trauma, Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery. Her clinical interests lie in trauma surgery and critical care, and she is passionate about medical students, surgical residents, and fellow education. She is one of the associate program directors for the General Surgery residency program. When not at work, Dr. Hunter enjoys spending time with her husband and their two young children.
