2025 Categories

Adult Photographers (18+) may enter up to two (2) photographs in each category.

Youth Photographers (13–17) may enter up to three (3) photographs total in any of the categories. All Youth division entries will be judged as one group.


20th Anniversary Special Category: What Rural Means to Me

Define “rural Kansas” in your own way.

Examples: favorite spot, personal tradition, symbol of home, where you feel most connected to the land, community, or Kansas in general.

Sky’s the Limit

Focus on the skies of Kansas in all their glory.

Examples: sunrise, sunset, big sky views, clouds rolling in, stormy skies, stargazing, rainbows, sunbeams, etc.

Health Care in Kansas

What does a healthy Kansas mean to you?

Examples: health care-focused: provider, facility, lab, care, event, community, healthy habits, etc.

Seasons of Kansas

Highlight the unique character of each season.

Examples: planting in spring, summer harvest, fall foliage, snow in winter, seasonal traditions or festivals.

Wildlife and Critters

From prairie dogs to pasture pups, capture the creatures that call Kansas home.

Examples: deer in a field, bird in flight, farm animals, insects, buffalos on the range, etc.

Youth Division

A special division for youth, ages 13–17.

Submit up to three (3) photographs in any mix of the 2025 categories.
