Premedical Student Conference: Kansas physicians, scientists, advisors, and potential medical students come together for this one-day conference. Discussions include the MCAT and applying to medical school, tips for successful admissions interviews, and question-and-answer sessions with physicians and medical students.

Primary Care Workshop, School of Medicine: Application-based, one-day workshop where students participate in a physician-led Problem-Based Learning (PBL) group illustrating a clinical office visit. Breakout sessions provide individualized learning about suturing and aspects of the physical exam.

Scholars in Rural Health, School of Medicine: The Scholars in Rural Health Program identifies college undergraduates from rural Kansas who are interested in building successful future careers as primary care physicians serving underserved rural areas throughout Kansas.

Scholars in Urban Health: The Scholars in Urban Health program recruits students from the urban areas of Kansas (Kansas City, Topeka, Wichita, and Lawrence) who are committed to ameliorating the health challenges faced by their communities. The program exposes students to a variety of health care services in urban areas, including hospital and office practice.

Health Professions Educator Certificate: A 12-credit-hour interprofessional certificate program in which School of Nursing students develop the skills and education expertise needed for various roles within academic and clinical settings.

Nurse Academy: A one-day program introducing high school and college-aged students to the profession of nursing. Students will practice hands-on nursing skills, learn about different fields within nursing, and tour several different patient care delivery areas in the hospital.
