History of the KU Health Professions Alumni Association
The KU Allied Health Alumni Association was organized in 1982. Early membership dues were $10, then increased in 1999 to $20. Current dues are $35 per year for individual annual memberships. The name changed from KU Allied Health Alumni Association to KU Health Professions Alumni Association in 2011 in conjunction with the school name change.
The active membership consists of graduates, former, and current students of the KU School of Health Professions, any honorary alumnus and current and former members of the faculty.
Unlike the other two schools at the University of Kansas Medical Center, the school is segmented into distinct organizational units based on field of study. Due to the various academic departments within the school, the Association's Board is comprised of a variety of representatives from each program. Student representatives of each educational program can also serve, on an annual rotating basis.
Through the support of its members, the KU Health Professions Alumni Association plays a role in supporting student activities and scholarships.
