Two Ways You Can Help Kansas Students Thrive
Kansas HOSA invites individuals and organizations to support students exploring health careers by contributing to its statewide educational opportunities database or volunteering at the March State Leadership Conference.
Supporting the next generation of health professionals doesn’t always require a long-term commitment. Sometimes, a small contribution of time or opportunity can make a lasting impact. Kansas HOSA offers two meaningful ways for individuals and organizations across the state to support Kansas students right now.
- Share Opportunities Through the Educational Opportunities Database
A statewide resource is available to help Kansas students discover volunteering needs, research opportunities, summer programs, job shadowing, and internships. This database was created by Kansas HOSA President Shivani Hebsur, a student at Wichita Collegiate Upper School, with the goal of making career exploration more accessible for students across Kansas.
If you or your organization offer opportunities that could benefit students, consider contributing to this growing resource. Your involvement can open doors for students who are eager to learn, explore health careers, and gain real-world experience.

- Volunteer at the Kansas HOSA State Leadership Conference
The Kansas HOSA State Leadership Conference will take place in early March, and volunteers are essential to making this event a success. Volunteers do not need to be health care professionals— everyone is welcome!
Kansas HOSA is currently seeking exhibitors, judges, event staff, timekeepers, mock patients and general volunteers. This is a great opportunity to directly support students as they showcase their skills, leadership and passion for health careers.
Volunteer registration is open now and will close in January, so don’t wait to get involved. To participate or learn more, contact tgoosz@kumc.edu.
Whether you can share an opportunity or volunteer your time, your support helps inspire and prepare Kansas students for the future. Together, we can strengthen the pipeline of tomorrow’s health professionals, right here in Kansas.
Kansas HOSA is proudly administered by the KU Area Health Education Center.
