Kansas 4M Lunch and Learns Bring Age-Friendly Care to the Forefront
Whether you work in health care, social services or simply have a passion for improving the lives of older adults, the Kansas 4M Lunch and Learn series offers a welcoming space to learn, connect and grow.
The Kansas 4M Lunch and Learn series is helping strengthen the workforce that serves older adults by creating a space for professionals to learn, connect and share practical strategies for improving care.
These monthly interprofessional continuing education sessions are open to anyone interested in advancing care for older adults. Participants include professionals from primary care practices, nursing homes and community organizations who come together to exchange ideas, highlight best practices and build connections across disciplines.
The series is part of the broader Kansas 4M Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program, which is funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The initiative supports the development of an age-friendly workforce across the state. Kansas 4M is built around the evidence-based 4Ms framework, which focuses on four essential elements of care for older adults: What Matters, Medication, Mentation and Mobility. By addressing these four areas together, providers can deliver more coordinated, person-centered care that supports the health, independence, and well-being of older adults.
Each Lunch and Learn session offers timely topics, practical insights and opportunities for discussion that participants can apply in their own care settings. Upcoming sessions will explore topics such as advancing care through the 4Ms model for older adults and care partners living with dementia, strengthening coordination across care teams and highlighting statewide initiatives that support dementia care and healthy aging.
Continuing education credit is available for those who complete the required steps, and recordings are made available as enduring materials for those who cannot attend live.
The series is offered in collaboration with the University of Kansas Medical Center Area Health Education Center and the Heartland Telehealth Resource Center, helping expand access to education and resources for the health, social and supportive care workforce across Kansas.
