Big Cedar Lodge, Ridgedale, MO – A little over a month from now, health care professionals from the four states (and beyond) will gather for the third annual “Cardiovascular Updates Symposium.” The event aims to enhance health care professionals’ knowledge and understanding of current diagnostic, therapeutic and management strategies for patients with cardiovascular disease.

Hosted by The University of Kansas Health System, this regional event features discussions and discoveries, offering great value for medical professionals throughout Kansas, where heart disease is the leading cause of death.

Cardiac Electrophysiology, advanced heart failure, structural and interventional cardiology, cardiovascular imaging and vascular medicine are among the topics to which the symposium will dedicate sessions, with renowned national experts in these subspecialties serving as faculty.

An additional focus will be evidence-based strategies for management of patients, in an effort to better coordinate the continuity of care between community-based physicians and primary care providers and specialists.

Robert D. Simari, M.D., executive vice chancellor of the University of Kansas Medical Center and the Franklin E. Murphy Professor in Cardiology at KU School of Medicine, will deliver the keynote address.

The symposium not only provides valuable educational sessions and opportunities for interaction with faculty and colleagues, but upon completion, attendees will be equipped with practical knowledge and strategies to stay abreast of rapid advancements in cardiovascular medicine and improve patient care.
