Ian Cook, MD, is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, College of Medicine where he graduated with high distinction and was elected to AOA. He completed his residency training in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Kentucky and his fellowship in the Division of Gynecology Oncology at the University of Virginia.
Dr. Cook specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of women with gynecologic malignancies as well as genetic mutation that predispose them to gynecologic cancers focusing on the care of women diagnosed with ovarian, uterine, cervical, vulvar or vaginal cancers. He has always been interested in caring for complex patients and is both humbled and grateful for the opportunity to provide both surgical and chemotherapy care. He is skilled in traditional and minimally invasive surgical approaches and employs both robotic and traditional laparoscopic techniques for gynecologic cancers and complex benign gynecologic conditions.
Dr. Cook is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is board eligible in the subspecialty of gynecologic oncology. He joined the KU Cancer Center in September 2022.
