Sick Leave
Eligible employees at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) accrue 3.7 hours of sick leave for each 80 hours paid.
Accrual
Sick leave accrues at 3.7 hours for each 80 hours paid. Students and temporary employees are not eligible for paid sick leave.
Part-time exempt accruals are as follows:

When you can use your sick leave
- You are ill or need to be away from work for medical reasons
- You need time off due to pregnancy and/or childbirth
- Adoption or placement of a child in your home
- To care for a member of your family related to you by blood, marriage, adoption or a minor in your residence resulting from court proceedings under Kansas code for care of children or the Kansas juvenile offenders code.
