Dr. Hope Ring earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Brooklyn College, City University of New York. She received her Medical Doctorate from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She completed her Emergency Medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital, where she also served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Ring has held several leadership roles throughout her career, including Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director and Physician Director for a Level 1 Senior Emergency Department in Michigan. Since joining The University of Kansas Health System in December 2021, she has served as the Medical Director for the legacy Urgent Cares and as Vice Chair of Education for the Department of Emergency Medicine.
At the national level, Dr. Ring has made significant contributions to the advancement of emergency medicine. She was a member of the ACGME Emergency Medicine Milestone Committee, an oral board examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM), and the former chair of Envision Health’s National Healthcare Disparities Committee. Currently, she serves as Vice Chair of Education at the University of Kansas and is a member of the board of the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
Her professional interests include critical care, academic medicine, and physician wellness.
