Professional Background

Gina Baker, OTD, OTR/L, is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy Education at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Her teaching experience includes subjects related to fieldwork, mental health practice and theory to practice in occupational therapy.

An occupational therapy focus for Baker is in serving individuals with mental health conditions within community and hospital settings. In addition to serving as a fieldwork educator at Reclamation Clubhouse, a community mental health organization, she also serves as a capstone mentor to KU students passionate about occupational therapy’s role in mental health.



Baker's research interests include non-traditional fieldwork experiences in occupational therapy education, teaching and learning methodology, mental health education and practice, and community participation and health of individuals living with mental health conditions.
