Poster Session
Date and time: Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 pm.
Location: KUMC Campus - Ad Astra Room, 5th Floor Event Space in the Health Education Building (HEB)
Poster board dimensions: 6 ft wide by 4 ft tall; please note your poster may be smaller but cannot be larger than 6 ft wide by 4 ft tall to fit on our poster boards.
Double-sided poster boards will be available at the event space on the 5th Floor, Health Education Building (2 posters per board, 1 poster on each side). T-pins and push-pins will be provided. We will email you your assigned abstract/poster number, and your number will be included in the program booklet. We will also post signs in the Ad Astra Room listing all poster number assignments for your convenience.
Posters should be hung on Thursday, November 7 between 1:00 pm and 1:50 pm or at the beginning of the Reception and Poster Session in 5202 HEB. Posters should be removed by 7:00 pm at the conclusion of evening. All posters left on poster boards after 7:30 pm will be brought to the Kansas City Public Library Friday morning and will be available for pick-up at the symposium registration desk at the library (Helzberg Auditorium, 5th Floor).
Trainee Poster Competition and Oral Presentation FAQs
Q: Who is eligible to participate?
A: Graduate Students, Master’s Students, Undergraduate Students, Postdoctoral Fellows/Associates, etc. (trainees only). Faculty and staff are not eligible to participate in the Trainee Poster Competition, but all are welcome to present posters.
Q: Is submitting a strong, clear abstract really that important?
A: YES! The judges will select the Trainee Oral Presentations based upon the abstracts submitted.
Q: How do I submit my abstract, indicate my interest in being considered for a Trainee Oral Presentation and participate in the Trainee Poster Competition?
A: Go to our Abstract Submission Page, complete the required fields, following formatting instructions exactly as indicated, then Submit!
Q: If I am selected to give a Trainee Oral Presentation, am I still eligible to participate in the Trainee Poster Competition?
A: No; giving an oral presentation is an honor that provides a high level of recognition. A certificate will be given to those trainees who give oral presentations.
Q: Who will judge the abstracts?
A: The Greenwald Symposium Organizing Committee and other faculty members will judge the abstracts.
Q: How many Trainee Oral Presentations will be included in this year's program?
A: The Greenwald Symposium Organizing Committee will select 6 abstracts for oral presentation.
Q: How many poster awards will be made?
A: The Greenwald Symposium Organizing Committee plans to award Poster Competition awards to the top 6 trainee poster presenters.
