Professional Background

Dr. Florence Hosseini-Aslinia is a board-certified gastroenterologist, specialized in the assessment and management of digestive diseases. She completed her gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Her clinical expertise includes diseases that cause chronic diarrhea, inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, microscopic colitis and celiac disease) and colorectal cancer prevention. She provides care to the patients with inflammatory bowel disease at the Multidisciplinary Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinic. She has a holistic approach to inflammatory bowel disease by emphasizing on the role of anti-inflammatory diet and stress management along with medical and surgical therapy for management of inflammatory bowel disease.

She often performs advanced procedures for colorectal cancer prevention such as colonoscopy with endoscopic mucosal resection and chromoendoscopy, upper endoscopy, enteroscopy and capsule endoscopy.

Overview

Dr. Hosseini-Aslinia is interested in finding a cure for the inflammatory bowel disease. She is also collaborating with major pharmaceutical companies to provide the opportunities for her patients to be enrolled in clinical trials. This allows her patients to take advantage of new therapies that are not yet approved by the FDA as alternatives to currently available FDA-approved medications. She is active in the field of gastroenterology research.
