Dr. Faisal Ansari is a dedicated and compassionate psychiatrist specializing in addiction psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. He completed his Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at The University of Kansas Medical Center. Previously, Dr. Ansari completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the same institution, following his General Psychiatry Residency at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.
Dr. Ansari's clinical experience is extensive, with hands-on work in various settings, including the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP), inpatient units, consultation-liaison (Candamp;L) services, and geriatrics. He also worked as a consultant psychiatrist at Olathe Medical Center and KVC (now Camber) for almost 2 years, providing specialized care and expertise. Dr. Ansari presented a poster on Buprenorphine/Naloxone long-acting injection in adolescent patients, contributing to the field's understanding of treatment options for addiction.
He has enhanced his clinical skills through externships at Brookdale Hospital and Jamaica Hospital, where he gained practical experience in patient care and stayed updated with the latest pharmacological treatments and methodologies.
Dr. Ansari earned his M.B.B.S. from Rawalpindi Medical College in Pakistan. His commitment to advancing psychiatric care is evident in his research work, including a notable project comparing externalizing symptoms, socialization, and resilience in children and adolescents with a family history of incarceration.
Fluent in English and Urdu, with limited proficiency in Spanish, Dr. Ansari excels in communication and teamwork. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys watching American football, working on old cars, fishing, cycling, and watching comedy shows.
