Health Education Building

Health Education Building

The Health Education Building will be a new iconic facility that will become the face of the KU Medical Center campus to accommodate modern learning and facilitate the education of a greater number of physicians, nurses and allied health care professionals to address critical health care worker shortages in Kansas.

The interior design elements will be modern and authentic, inspired by key facets of the building's purpose: connectivity; identity; a healthy, sustainable environment; and transparency. The building, which will be approximately 171,000 square feet, will provide functional spaces that support meaningful connections and improved inter-professional education with approximately 47 classrooms, 32 clinical and simulation labs and numerous community life areas. Other building elements will include retail and office space.

Architectural features will embrace natural elements and the heritage of the state of Kansas with a terraced courtyard and outdoor space with features representing the rolling prairies of Kansas. The facility will offer a new level of connectivity and technology that has not previously been available on our campus and will also enhance our efforts on the Wichita and Salina campuses.
