Professional Background

Dr. Salari earned his Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Florida, where his doctoral research focused on optimization approaches for external beam planning. He then completed his postdoctoral training in radiation oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where his postdoctoral research focused on multicriteria optimization approaches for treatment planning. Following the completion of his postdoctoral studies, he began his academic career as a tenure‑track Assistant Professor at Wichita State University and subsequently was promoted to tenured Associate Professor. During this time, he has taught courses in mathematical optimization, simulation modeling, and stochastic processes, and has continued to advance his research in computational modeling for treatment planning and motion management. He has completed the Medical Physics certificate program from Georgia Tech and is currently serving as Clinical Instructor at KUMC. His research interests are in model and method development for multimodal adaptive planning and radiation-drug combination therapies.
