A drought is a period of unusually dry weather that persists long enough to cause serious damage and/or water supply shortages. Droughts are unique among natural disasters as we usually do not realize we're in a drought until weeks after it begins making it difficult to prepare. If a severe drought occurs in Kansas, we may implement rules regarding water usage and conservation tips.
