Emergency Call Button

Help is on the way. With a push of a button, users can either directly connect to KUMC police (on the Kansas City campus) or local 9-1-1 (Salina and Wichita) in an emergency. 

Confidential Tip Submission

Currently on the Kansas City campus only, as it directly sends tips to KUMC Police Dispatch. Prevent dangerous situations using this two-way discreet and confidential tips. User-initiated texting increases engagement and reports of suspicious behavior, unsafe situations, crimes and other hazards.

Geo-targeted Push Notifications

Geo-targeted push notifications allow you to target certain locations with specific alerts, even when users don't have cell signals.

Setting and Running Your New and Improved Safety Timer

With the Safety Timer, your status & location are available to those you trust - your Guardians. Set up your timer when you are heading somewhere unfamiliar, going out for a jog, meeting with someone you don't know, walking to your car after work, or any other time you would like someone to check on you. In 5 easy steps, you can set a virtual safety timer to have your friends and family watch over you for an added layer of security.

2. Say where you are going
3. Set duration
4. Start the timer
5. Your selected contacts will get a text and can select to monitor the timer session without the use of an app. If things escalate, an emergency call is just one click away.

Call Directory

The call directory allows for easy-to-find assistance. It enables users to easily find assistance and resources through a call directory of important numbers that you can update and add to in real-time. If there is important numbers you'd like to see there, contact  uem@kumc.edu. 

Content Portal for On-the-go Resources

Access the new content portal for websites and important links at the tip of your fingers. Emergency procedures, travel documents and other key resources can be shared with users in a configurable content library to help them stay safe and informed. Account Features

Your Rave Guardian is powered by Smart911, a national safety database to help emergency responders and other safety personnel help you during an emergency.

Downloading the Guardian app will automatically set up a Smart911 account. Once you set up your account, you can log into your account screen and can easily change out your photo and also your school Email address if needed. You also have the ability to edit your Smart911 Safety Profile, where you can add anything you would want emergency responders to know about you in case of an emergency - things like medical conditions, allergies, disabilities, and more.
