Dr. Smith completed her undergraduate education at Creighton University then entered medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. She completed two years in Kansas City followed by two years in Wichita. She then did her pediatrics residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Upon completion of residency, she decided to return to Wichita to become a pediatric hospitalist with the KU-Wichita Pediatrics group.
