Dr. Matt Shoemaker serves as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He completed his medical education at the University of Health Sciences-College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, MO in 2000. Dr. After his osteopathic internship at the Capital Regional Medical Center in Jefferson City, he went on to complete his internal medicine residency and infectious diseases fellowship at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics. He joined the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2019. He is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, HIV Medical Association, Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America, and the American Society of Microbiology. Dr. Shoemaker as a specific interest in antibiotic stewardship, HIV prevention and treatment, immunosuppressed hosts, endemic mycosis, and tickborne infections.
