Dr. Denton Shanks is a board-certified family physician, Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health, and medical director who spearheads system-level innovation—bringing multidisciplinary teams together, leveraging informatics, and applying human-centered design to remove barriers. He redesigns care workflows, alleviates clinician burden, and expands access to high-quality, patient-centered services. Beyond the clinic, he leads research, education, and practice collaborations; mentors residents and team-based learners; and shapes national initiatives in AI governance, digital-health strategy, and virtual-care efforts. His goal is to help everyone, everywhere be healthy, happy, and have fun.
