Professional Background

Dr. Douglas Lemons is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Kansas Medical Center and serves as the medical director for the Indian Creek Ambulatory Surgery Center. He is also the clinical liaison for the Sports Medicine program at KU. Dr. Lemons received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University. He then obtained his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine.

Dr. Lemons finished his post graduate education in the military, completing his internship and anesthesiology residency at The San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in San Antonio Texas. He then served 4 years as an active duty anesthesiologist in the United States Air Force. During that time, he served for two years as the Vice Commander of the Anesthesia Department. After completing his military career, Dr. Lemons spent the next seven years in a private practice anesthesia group in San Antonio. He then moved to Kansas City to join the KU family.
