Dr. Daniel Buckles is an Associate Professor of Medicine at The University of Kansas Medical Center.
Dr. Buckles received his medical degree from The University of Kansas Medical Center and then completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He then completed a Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at The University of Kansas Medical Center.
Dr. Buckles practices General Gastroenterology and Endoscopy. He has special interests in GERD and Barrett's esophagus and GI cancer prevention. He spends much of his professional time performing diagnostic and therapeutic general GI endoscopic procedures, as well as seeing patients in clinic and in the hospital.
Dr. Buckles is heavily involved in medical education and currently serves as the Gastroenterology Associate Fellowship Program Director. He also performs several administrative functions for the GI Division.
Dr. Buckles is a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and The American College of Gastroenterology.

Overview
Dr. Buckles has research interests in the field of GI cancer prevention. He has collaborated and published research involving Barrett's esophagus, colon cancer screening and prevention and advanced imaging techniques used in GI endoscopy.
