David W. Becker, MD

Assistant Professor, General & Hospital Medicine
dbecker@kumc.eduProfessional Background
I am at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and Hospital for two main reasons. The first is for the ability to see complex and diverse medical patients and care for their problems. The second is to facilitate quality and learner directed instruction of medicine. I have a wide range of learners and enjoy the ability to integrate their developing yet varying medical knowledge and skills with the array of patients that I care for. I am involved mostly with bedside teaching; however I also continue more involvement in didactic and small group education as my career progresses. My main philosophy, whether with first year medical students or seasoned graduating residents, is to allow the learners’ voices heard and connect them with the care we are providing for our patients.
