Professional Background

A KU alumnus, Dylan Bassett, DPT, OCS, CSCS, is a clinical instructor in the KU Department of Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Science, and Athletic Training and currently teaches the advanced topics in human anatomy course. Bassett also is a clinical lab assistant for courses in orthopedic physical therapy and applied kinesiology and biomechanics in the Department of Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Science, and Athletic Training. In addition, Bassett assists in supervising students for the JaySTART clinic.

Bassett earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, and a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Kansas. He is a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopedic physical therapy and also a certified strength and conditioning specialist.

Before returning to the KU Medical Center in a faculty role, Bassett served as the orthopedic resident in the department of physical therapy at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, with roles in teaching students, research and mentorship of students in a clinical setting.
