Professional Background

Dr. Clay D. King, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Transplant and HPB Surgery at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. King was born and raised in the rural town of Ellis in Western Kansas. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Biology at Kansas State University before attending and completing medical school at the University of Kansas. Dr. King then received his surgical training in General Surgery followed by Fellowship in Abdominal Transplant Surgery and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery at the University of Kansas. As a lifelong Kansan, Dr. King was honored to accept a faculty appointment at the University of Kansas. His clinical focus includes liver, kidney and pancreas transplantation as well as oncologic surgery of the pancreas, liver and biliary system.
