Programs
Children’s Miracle Network KC Heartland is proud to work with various partners to coordinate fundraising programs that benefit kids at KU Medical Center.
The Dance Marathon program is based in universities and high schools around the country. It helps students develop their leadership skills while planning large-scale fundraising events in honor of CMN miracle families. These events are some of the most anticipated for our families. They can run anywhere from 4-36 hours in length and are truly a celebration of our miracle families and all they have been through. In addition to the KU Dance Marathon in Lawrence, we are looking forward to engaging additional high schools and colleges in the future.
Extra Life is a 24-hour virtual gaming marathon that takes in November. It engages gamers of all ages year-round in a community who want to give back while doing what they love most: playing games. Participants sign up at www.extra-life.org, fundraise on their own personalized page and plan their own game day. They can play any and all games they wish and get together with friends or do it alone. Each person can make it what they want it to be - it is completely customizable!
Our annual Radiothon takes place in the beginning of December every year and is held on the Cumulus Radio cluster of stations: 101.1 The Fox, 94.9 KCMO, 95.7 The Vibe, Magic 107.3, KCMO Talk Radio at 103.7 FM and 710 AM, 105.1The X or 102.5 Jack FM. The Miracle Day of Hope runs for 12 hours, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and each station shares the medical journey of our miracle families while encouraging listeners to make a donation to help fund the greatest needs at KU Medical Center.
