How Your Dollars Make Miracles

The Pediatrics Department at the University of Kansas Medical Center is proud to be the local CMN Hospital in the Greater Kansas City area. The funds raised through CMN events go directly to fund pediatric research initiatives taking place exclusively at KU Medical Center. In addition, funds help sick and injured children being treated at the University of Kansas Health System. These dollars are used to pay for charitable care, equipment, supplies and educational programs.

Recognizing YOU for Supporting KU Pediatrics!

In 2020, the newly renovated pediatrics clinic in Prairie Village opened to the public and children and families from across the Kansas City metro were able to continue their care in the most up-to-date space.  This clinical project was made possible thanks to the many dedicated partners and donors who fundraise to support pediatrics on our campus through Children’s Miracle Network fundraising campaigns and programs.

It is with great excitement that we are able to recognize our partners and donors who have raised over $10,000 with the installation of a donor wall inside the clinic.

On behalf of everyone at CMN, KU Medical Center, the Pediatrics Department and all of the families we serve, thank you for our dedicated support!  We look forward to hosting a donor reception in the near future to recognize you all in person.

A Fundraising Friend Joins Panda Express

Nothing makes a CMN campaign more fun for our partners than a fundraising competition. Who doesn’t love bragging rights? We are excited to introduce Panda Express’s “Traveling Panda” initiative which kicked off in April and will continue through December. The contest is quite simple, the location that raises the most in CMN donations each month, will get to proudly display the panda and work to make sure he stays.

Of course, such an important fundraising friend needed an equally impressive name. It was utter “panda-monium,” at our CMN office trying to come up with something so we turned the task over to our social media followers and Panda Express employees. During the month of April, we held a naming contest and voting poll to find the perfect fit.

KUMC Students Have Fun Raising Funds

In early February, the KUMC Miracle Makers, led by Sara Fortin Miller, a PhD student in the Department of Dietetics and Nutrition, celebrated another year of fundraising by presenting Children’s Miracle Network $2,500. These students faced another year of hybrid learning and COVID uncertainty, but their passion for changing kids’ health and changing the future remained steadfast. The KUMC Miracle Makers hosted merchandise sales, coordinated a Month of Miracles, which included an incredibly popular “cutest pet contest” on Instagram, and came up with creative ways to celebrate Miracle Families. We are grateful and proud that the circumstances of the past year did not deter them from their commitment to helping bring health and healing to KC Heartland kids.

The KUMC Miracle Makers is organization on the University of Kansas Medical Center campus, open to students of all disciplines.  They are dedicated to raising funds and awareness for Children’s Miracle Network at KU Medical Center. Follow them @kumcmiraclemakers on Instagram!

GAMESHOW-'ish: Go Viral for a Good Cause

Gameshowish is an innovative creation space and social channel headquartered at Oak Mark Mall, and they have chosen to elevate Children’s Miracle Network as part of their platform!

As part of their soft opening, they invited Miracle Families to come out to play minute-to-win-it games with the chance to be featured on their social channels. The CMN team was particularly thrilled, as this event was the first time since families have had the opportunity to congregate since 2020.

Gameshowish is free and open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays. Stop by with your family and friends to play creative head-to-head games with the chance of going viral!

Be sure like, follow, and share Gameshowish on YouTube and Instagram!
