Professional Background
Dr. Benjamin Howard Stone, MD, MBA, FACS is an Assistant Professor in the General Surgery Division at the University of Kansas. He strives to provide the highest quality compassionate care and take the time to listen to his patients.
Dr. Stone was awarded his bachelor’s degree with honors from Kansas State University in Life Science with a focus in cellular and molecular biology. He was accepted through early admissions to the University of Kansas where he completed medical school with the class of 2004. He continued on at the University of Kansas and completed his Surgical training in 2009 finishing with distinct honors.
Dr. Stone brings over 13 years of experience and excellence from his private practice setting with him to the University of Kansas. His current clinical interests include minimally invasive surgical procedures including laparoscopic and robotic techniques to assist with quick recoveries. He has developed particular interest in hernia repair and complex abdominal wall reconstruction. He prides himself on delivering excellent care across the spectrum of General surgical procedures and patient care.
His professional activities include leadership roles in the State Surgical societies as well as serving in advocacy roles for patients at the National and State level. Dr. Stone completed a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Missouri Kansas City in 2020 and incorporates his business and leadership studies into his current practice.
