Dr. Bert W. Maidment III is certified by the American Board of Radiology with a sub-certification in radiation oncology. His practice style emphasizes open communication, an interpersonal approach to medical care and patient involvement in their treatment decisions. He accepts referrals for all cancer types but has a specific interest in providing stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic body radiosurgery (SBRT) for prostate cancer, lung cancer and oligometastatic disease.

Dr. Maidment was raised in Overland Park, Kansas, and completed his undergraduate studies at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed a residency in radiation oncology at the University of Virginia, where he had the honor of serving as chief resident. He was elected by his peers into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, which recognizes those who excel in providing compassionate and humanistic care to patients. He returned to his hometown, Kansas City, to practice radiation oncology in 2017. He earned the title of partner and served as executive vice president of a private radiation oncology practice between 2017 and 2022. In 2023, he joined The University of Kansas Department of Radiation Oncology as a clinical assistant professor. Dr. Maidment currently serves as medical director of Olathe Cancer Center Radiation Oncology. He and his wife, Christa, have 3 children. Outside of work, he devotes as much of his free time to his wife and children as possible. He enjoys ice hockey, food and travel.
