Professional Background

Bobbie Laincz, Ed.D., MSHI, joined the department in January 2018 as a clinical instructor in health care analytics and was appointed to her clinical assistant professor position in July.

She earned her master’s degree in health informatics from the University of Kansas in 2017. Prior to that she received a bachelor’s degree in business administration in computer information systems from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kansas.

With her professional experience extending more than a decade in health information management, Laincz brings advanced skills and expertise to the health information management degree programs, including data visualization, advanced data mining, and business intelligence, among many others.

Before arriving at KU, Laincz served in the roles of director of financial and operational analytics and manager of business intelligence during her six-year stint at Children’s Hospital Association in Lenexa, Kansas. During her time there, she led training efforts and presented regularly at health care conferences highlighting the use of data. In addition, she previously held a research assistant position at KU Medical Center in the Institute for Community Engagement from 2015 to 2018. She spent 2003-2012 in various technical positions at ScriptPro in Mission, Kansas.
