Professional Background

Brian Herman, D.O., is a clinical assistant professor on the clinical track in the Department of Neurology. He received his medical degree in osteopathic medicine at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences before completing his residency in neurology at the University of Kansas Medical Center, during which he served as the clinical chief resident.
Dr. Herman’s clinical interests are in general neurology, including stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and migraines.


Research

Overview

Dr. Herman’s research interests include the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders such as stroke, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease. He has presented on tumefactive multiple sclerosis, acute on-set CIDP and membranous glomerulonephritis, as well as audiovisual lexical retrieval deficits following a left hemisphere stroke.
