Brandie Smith is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Kansas School of Nursing. She teaches courses in the traditional undergraduate BSN program and graduate program. Her nursing career includes specialties of Women’s Health, Obstetrics, Maternity Education, Critical Care and Hospice. She has practiced nursing in Kansas and Missouri for 10 years. She has been teaching in nursing for the past 8 years.
She graduated with her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) and specialized as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) in 2024. Her doctoral project focused on empowering hypertensive pregnant women through maternity education specific to their condition. She obtained board certification and has recently opened a private practice specializing in maternal wellness and care for women across the lifespan.
