Professional Background

Dr. Byron Seth DeCamp, MD, is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Vascular Surgery at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. DeCamp was born and raised in rural Texas. He earned a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from Texas Aandamp;M University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. From there, he attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, earning his medical degree in 2003. Dr. DeCamp completed a General Surgery residency at Methodist Hospitals of Dallas and then completed a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at the Michigan State training program in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is board-certified in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery.
Dr. DeCamp spent eight years in private practice vascular surgery and then joined our faculty in 2019. While he enjoys all aspects of Vascular Surgery, he has a special clinical interest in complex endovascular procedures such as pedal access and complex BTK interventions for limb salvage, microcatheter embolization, and fenestrated endografts for complex aneurysm repair. He also performs a large volume of thoracic outlet procedures for arterial and venous thoracic outlet syndrome (at this time not seeing neurogenic TOS) and complex open aortic reconstructions.
