Professional Background
Dr. Anurag Sharma joined the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) on August 11, 2025, as Staff Dermatopathologist, Director of Dermatopathology Services, and teaching faculty member in the Departments of Pathology and Dermatology. He brings extensive training and experience in diagnostic pathology, academic teaching, and clinical leadership. Dr. Sharma earned his medical degree in India, where he completed training in anatomic pathology and practiced general surgical pathology for two years before pursuing advanced education abroad.
He completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in molecular pathology at the Mayo Clinic, followed by combined AP/CP residency and dermatopathology fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic. Prior to joining KUMC, Dr. Sharma served as a practicing dermatopathologist and faculty member at Western University in Ontario, Canada. He is board certified and licensed to practice pathology in India, the United States, and Canada, reflecting his global expertise and academic excellence.
