Professional Background

I have been actively involved in medical student and resident teaching in various clinical settings since I completed my Residency in 2006 to the current time.
I have provided training to residents in ambulatory clinics as Chief Resident.
I have provided teaching at patient bedside and on teaching rounds to clinical observers, medical students and residents.
I educate them on history taking and physical examination in inpatient setting. I help them to learn to formulate care plan. I supervise resident admissions after hours.

I provide guidance and feedback to my students a few minutes daily on rotation and then more detailed feed back mid week and at end of week, I provide feedback on their performance with focus on their areas of strength and areas with scope of improvement.

I also provide clinical guidance and leadership as a physician to my group of nurses, case managers and social work personnel involved in the care of my patients.
I have also provided career advise and mentoring to my mentee students from Cate's society.
In my role as Physician advisor, I have recently been involved in providing training and guidance to new colleagues who joined the Physician Advisor team. I also provide guidance to Physicians in progression of care and discharge planning.

Hospital medicine, Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA. I provided inpatient care at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Virginia as Hospitalist. I provided direct patient care and provided resident training on inpatient services. (October 2006 - March 2009)

Adult Hospitalist, KU Medical center. I provide clinical rounding, diagnosis and management on patients admitted to KUMC as a direct care Physician for acute care. I make assessments and formulate their plan of care.
I coordinate care for the patients by collaborating with consulting Physicians and multi-disciplinary teams to provide high quality care in inpatient setting.

Through the years of clinical service at KUMC and Carilion Roanoke Memorial, VA, from the year 2006 to now, I have generated and exceeded my annual RVU targets.

I was awarded Fellowship of American college of Physicians (FACP) in 2018 by ACP, reflecting my dedication to continued education in clinical practice and teaching.
Through the CDI oversight committee, I advise and provide education on Clinical documentation improvement.
