Annabel Mancillas, MD MPH FACOG

Professional Background

Annabel Mancillas, MD, MPH, FACOG, graduated from Hutchinson Community College and Wichita State University with a bachelors in the science of nursing. Prior to matriculating medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine she practiced as a registered nurse for three years. Dr. Mancillas graduated medical school in 2011. Her postgraduate training was at Wesley Medical Center-University of Kansas Wichita campus completing residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2015.
Dr. Mancillas joined the University of Kansas Medical Center in January 2021.
Prior to becoming faculty at the University of Kansas Medical Center Dr. Mancillas practiced general OB/Gyn for a hospital employed group in the Kansas City area for 5 ½ years.
Dr. Mancillas was born and raised in Hutchinson, Kansas and is a first generation Mexican American. She is fluent in Spanish and is an official bilingual provider, because of this she loves providing care in Spanish and has participated in multiple medical mission trips in Latin America. Special interests of Dr. Mancillas include providing prenatal care to first time mothers, total laparoscopic hysterectomies, supporting safe vaginal births after cesarean and community and public health.
As part of her faculty appointment, Dr. Mancillas also sees patients at Vibrant Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center that partners with University of Kansas. This is of particular interest to Dr. Mancillas as she has dedicated the majority of her career to providing care to underserved populations.
Dr. Mancillas is married to her husband David who is a clinical pharmacist and together they have two sons.
