Professional Background


Andrea Lee, M.D., is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Lee, who joined the faculty in October of 2022, previously was a clinical assistant professor of neurology at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York.

Dr. Lee holds bachelor’s degrees in anthropology and biology from Brown University and earned her medical degree at the State University of New York Downstate. She completed her residency at the New York University School of Medicine where she also finished a Parkinson’s and Movement Disorder fellowship.

Dr. Lee’s clinical interests include Parkinson’s Disease and related parkinsonisms, essential tremor, dystonia, tardive dyskinesia, tics and Tourette’s syndrome, restless leg syndrome, ataxia and myoclonus. She is an experienced injector of botulinum toxin for cervical dystonia, hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm and sialorrhea (drooling). Her research interests extend to finding new therapies for slowing down progression of Parkinson’s disease, earlier diagnosis, and managing complications of Parkinson’s disease. She is credited with nearly 10 peer-reviewed articles.

In addition to the American Academy of Neurology, Dr. Lee’s professional affiliations include the Movement Disorder Society, the American Neurological Association, and the Parkinson’s Study Group. Dr. Lee is certified by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts and is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
