Andrew Jones, MBA, MLS(ASCP)cm, teaches undergraduate courses in microbiology, parasitology, mycology, and management principles in health care. As an clinical assistant professor, Jones also leads student laboratory courses in mycology/parasitology in the clinical laboratory science program. Jones teaches Advanced Laboratory Operations in the Doctorate of Clinical Laboratory Science (DCLS) in addition to serving as a committee member for multiple DCLS capstone research projects.
Academic Background
In 2012, Jones earned a bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science from the University of Kansas. He became an ASCP-certified medical laboratory scientist the same year. He also earned a master's degree in business administration in 2015 from Baker University, Baldwin City, Kansas.
Prior to teaching, Jones worked for five years as a microbiologist at The University of Kansas Health System.
Jones is active in multiple laboratory professional andamp; school organizations including the American Society for Clinical Pathology, Clinical Laboratory Management Association, and American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science. Jones serves as the president of the School of Health ​Professions Alumni Association Board of Directors.
