Professional Background

Andrew Jones, MBA, MLS(ASCP)cm, teaches undergraduate courses in management principles in health care and co-teaches fundamentals of analytical techniques. As an clinical assistant professor, Jones also leads student laboratory courses in bacteriology and mycology/parasitology in the clinical laboratory science program.

Academic Background
In 2012, Jones earned a bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science from the University of Kansas. He became an ASCP-certified medical laboratory scientist the same year. He also earned a master's degree in business administration in 2015 from Baker University, Baldwin City, Kansas.

Prior to teaching, Jones worked for five years as a microbiologist at The University of Kansas Health System. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he is still an active, ASCP-certified, medical laboratory scientist in the microbiology laboratory for The University of Kansas Health System.

Jones is active in multiple laboratory professional organizations including the American Society for Clinical Pathology, Clinical Laboratory Management Association, and American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science.
