Professional Background

Andrea Jewell, MD, specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of women with gynecologic malignancies. Her focus is on providing comprehensive and compassionate care to women diagnosed with ovarian, uterine, cervical, vulvar or vaginal cancers. She is skilled in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including robotic surgery for gynecologic cancers and complex benign gynecologic conditions. She joined the KU Cancer Center in August 2015.

Dr. Jewell is the principal investigator for gynecologic cancer clinical trials through NRG Oncology, a cooperative research group supported by the National Cancer Institute, The GOG Foundation, Inc, and industry sponsored trials. She actively participates in and conducts chemotherapy clinical trials targeting ovarian, endometrial, vulvar and cervical cancers through NRG and GOG Foundation, Inc. Her research focuses on ovarian chemoresistance.
