Professional Background

Andrew J. Creed, M.D., joined the Department of Neurology at KU Medical Center in 2024 as a clinical assistant professor. Prior to joining the department, he completed a movement disorders fellowship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and his neurology residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Dr. Creed attended medical school at the University of Kansas and earned a bachelor’s degree in human biology from KU as well.

Dr. Creed is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. His clinical interests include the treatment of movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, Huntington’s disease, ataxia, and dystonia.

Research

Overview

Dr. Creed’s research interests include the diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative disorders. He co-authored an article about diagnostic biomarkers in Alzheimer’s disease and assisted with research examining the cost effectiveness of MRI/MRA in nerve compression syndrome. He has presented video rounds at the University of Nebraska about eye movements in parkinsonism. At the University of Cincinnati, he delivered lectures examining evidence-based, medication-induced tremors and reviewing the connection between Cotard’s delusion and dementia, stroke, and epilepsy.
