Undergraduate Council

Undergraduate Council

The Undergraduate Council serves as an essential advisory board that provides oversight and guidance for undergraduate academic programs. The council is composed of representatives from undergraduate programs, the School of Health Professions Dean’s Office and the School of Nursing Dean’s Office, ensuring diverse perspectives and collaboration across disciplines.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Undergraduate Council is responsible for the review and approval of proposals for new or revised undergraduate degree and certificate programs, as well as updates to existing courses. Additionally, the council upholds the integrity of general education requirements, ensuring that they meet institutional standards and align with accrediting agency requirements for individual programs.

The council also evaluates exception requests to general education requirements, balancing the needs of individual students and programs with the standards necessary to maintain academic excellence and accreditation compliance.

Meeting Schedule

The Undergraduate Council convenes on a quarterly basis to review proposals, discuss academic policies, and address matters related to undergraduate education. These meetings provide a platform for collaboration, enabling the council to make informed decisions that support the academic and professional success of students.
