Transfer Credit Information
The University of Kansas Medical Center is part of the University of Kansas and follows the same general standards for the transfer of undergraduate coursework. All undergraduate programs at KU Medical Center have specific admissions requirements. If you have questions about an undergraduate program and what is required for admission, please reach out to the program directly.
College-level courses completed at an institution accredited by one of the below bodies will transfer, provided the course is similar in level, scope and content to courses offered at KU and a grade of C- or higher is earned.
- Accrediting Commissions for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) Western Association of Schools and Colleges
- Higher Learning Commission (HLC)
- Middles States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE)
- New England Commission on Higher Education (NECHE)
- Northwest Commission on Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)
- WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC)
You can use our online database, CredTran, to check transferability of courses. Credit for Prior Learning information can be found here. For more information regarding transfer credit, please contact us at kumcadmissions@kumc.edu.
Graduate students wishing to transfer credit for their master’s or clinical doctorate degree will need to work with their program. The eligibility of graduate transfer credit is determined by the program and the Office of Graduate Studies. Please see their policy in the KU Catalog for further details.
Students wishing to transfer into the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree program should refer to KU School of Medicine's MD Program Transfer Policy.
Degree Maps
Degree maps are sample four-year academic plans for undergraduate programs that provide examples of course sequences and degree requirements based on the university catalog. The degree maps are useful tools for advisors, students, and parents to use as a general guideline when building class schedules.
They are not a substitution for academic advising. Students are highly encouraged to consult with their academic program and the university catalog to ensure they are meeting degree requirements within their expected term of graduation.
All University of Kansas Degree Maps can be found on the KU Office of the Registrars Degree Maps page.
