Community Housing of Wyandotte County
Volunteers help with projects, including park improvements (landscaping, graffiti removal, trash pick-up), alley clean up, art projects, the installation and planting of community gardens and events.
Volunteers will help provide people in the Kansas City area affected by poverty with services and opportunities that encourage self-confidence, meet the needs of today and provide the tools for future self-sufficiency.
The Friendship Inn is making a difference in the lives of those families who need a "home away from home" during difficult situations. Volunteers will help with various activites around the property to help those in need.
Volunteers help fill many roles for the organization, from sorting items in the warehouse to administrative assistance.
Hillcrest Transitional Housing
Volunteers will help in the garden. Work includes weeding, planting, harvesting, tending to the garden structures and caring for the crops.
Volunteers will help with projects inside and outside, including sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, weeding, power washing the outside of the building, burying exposed irrigation lines, cutting unwanted vines off the landscape, cleaning windows, picking up trash and assembling school handbooks.
Rosedale Development Association
Volunteers will work with residents, businesses and institutions to build a strong and healthy community and to improve the quality of life for those who live, work and play in Rosedale. This includes helping clear community garden plots and working with low-income and elderly community members to make their houses homes again. This helps facilitate meaningful community outreach efforts that address vital issues.
Volunteers help provide multiple services that reach more than 1,200 people in Wyandotte County, focusing on health enrichment, education and home services.
Volunteers help girls develop the habits, attitudes, beliefs and expectations to develop self-efficacy and resiliency to life's challenges.
