School of Medicine Clinical Electives Program
International students gain practical clinical experience training alongside our faculty physicians as part of the KU School of Medicine Clinical Electives Program.
We are no longer accepting application requests for October – December 2023 and January 2024 to December 2024.
The University of Kansas Medical Center offers clinical electives to international medical students in their final year of medical school. Electives are offered throughout the year with the exception of July, August, and September.
The Clinical Electives Program is a great opportunity for students to enhance their medical knowledge by gaining practical skills while training alongside our faculty physicians.
Each clinical elective module is four weeks. International students are limited to no more than two modules. Enrollment in each module is limited, if selected to complete an application, the application process starts 4-6 months prior to the elective start date.
If you have questions, please direct them to International Programs.
