Establishing Institutional-Level Agreements Policy
GENERAL AGREEMENTS PROCESS
All international institution agreements are processed through OIP. For assistance please contact Ms. Alexa Smith, asmith5@kumc.edu and 913-588-2747.
- The agreement is sent to the international institution for signatures
- It is returned to KUMC through OIP for the remaining signatures
- After the agreement has the required signatures, the original is maintained by OIP for cataloging and tracking purposes
- A final copy is given to the "owner" (usually a faculty member or department)
- A final copy is shared with legal
- A final copy is emailed and a signed original is mailed by OIP to the international institution
- It is listed on our website for general knowledge and informational purposes along with the effective dates and the main contact
SPECIFIC AGREEMENT ADDENDUM OR IMPLEMENTATION AGREEMENT PROCESS
(After signing a general overarching agreement, a specific addendum or implementation agreement can outline specific research or a program that requires the exchange of money)
- After the overarching general agreement has been signed, the specific agreement is drafted and approved through legal
- It is sent to the international institution for signatures by OIP
- It is returned to KUMC through OIP for the remaining signatures
- After the agreement has the required signatures, the original is maintained by OIP for cataloging and tracking purposes
