Counseling & Problem Solving Meetings

We offer individual and couples counseling for ongoing counseling, and problem-solving meetings (30 min) for one-time visits.

Initial Phone Visit (Students) (20 min): For individual or couples counseling, an initial phone visit (20 min) is required.  After the initial phone visit, the next step will be an intake apppointment.

Individual Intake (Students/Residents) (60 min): For individual counseling, an individual intake appointment allows you and your counselor to identify goals and context for starting individual counseling.

Individual Psychological Counseling (30 or 60 min): Work one-on-one with an experienced counselor who provides evidenced-based treatment in a safe, caring, collaborative, and confidential environment. Explore your feelings, beliefs, and behaviors, address challenging circumstances or memories, set personal goals, and advance toward your desired change.

Couples Intake (Students/Residents) (90 min): For couples counseling, a couples intake appointment allows you, your partner and your counselor to identify goals and context for starting couples counseling.

Couples Counseling (60 min): Improve or repair your romantic relationship by receiving couples counseling from a psychologist or postdoc. Enhance your communication skills, improve intimacy, resolve conflict, and learn to address disagreements productively.  Non-student/non-resident partners are welcome to participate.

30-Minute Problem Solving Meeting: Engage in an informal, confidential consultation to discuss one or two specific problems that may not require ongoing counseling.

Preparing for Appointments:

  • For either in-person or video visits, please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment time to complete the required forms. These forms help the counselor best address the concern.
  • If a meeting with a counselor was required by an academic or residency program, please schedule an initial phone visit and not a problem solving meeting.
